Almost exclusively found in Puglia, Southern Italy, Primitivo actually hails from Croatia, however it's more famous perhaps with its American name... Zinfandel.

You've reached the summat of the jammy mountain, Primitivo, like it's American brother loves the heat. In Puglia there is plenty of sun to go around making rich, dark, jammy sweet reds with tannins that just melt away.

One for big steaks, ribs with sticky sauces or strong cheese.
